Late Shri R N Raikar founded Structwel on 18th April 1967. The company that started as a Civil Engineering Consultancy has grown significantly and expanded its business across geographies and other domains of Civil Engineering since its inception.

Structwel achieved its first milestone when it became a Private Limited Company in 1978. It then ventured into Construction Material Testing arena and established its own in-house material testing laboratory in 1988. The Government of India registered its groundbreaking work and awarded it with R&D status soon after its establishment. The functioning of the Laboratory was then further structured when it received NABL accreditation in 2000.

Simultaneously, the consultancy arm made significant progress. It became an ISO 9001 certified company in 2004 and established an in-house Mechanical and Electrical division in 2005. The company was expanding rapidly and to accommodate the ever increasing strength, Structwel shifted to its New Corporate Office Building in Navi Mumbai in 2007. Structwel made its first breakthrough in international markets when it established Structwel FZE, Dubai in 2007.
