Mr. Chetan R Raikar, a passionate Heritage Conservationist, has paved a strong path of success for Structwel under his extraordinarily able leadership.
He was instrumental in establishing ‘Structwel Lab’, the first Construction Material Testing Laboratory in private sector in India; which received R&D status by Government of India soon after its inception.
With his strategic leadership, he steered the expansion of Structwel in domestic and international markets. His passion for structural repairs and heritage conservation reflects splendidly in his conservation work of numerous historical and heritage structures; including a few world heritage sites.
He has been conferred with many national and international awards including American Concrete Institute (ACI) Young Member Award, Maharashtracha Kohinoor Award and CIDC Industry Captain Award to name a few.
He is appointed on several Government & Statutory committees & is a well-known name in academics-industry interaction forum. He is keenly interested in improving the quality of education, at the Degree & PG level, in Civil engineering colleges and is actively involved in reformation of curriculum of many engineering colleges.
He is a member of several renowned bodies such as Mumbai Heritage Conservation Committee (MHCC), India Chapter of American Concrete Institute, Institution of Engineering, Indian Institute of Bridge Engineers, Indian Heritage Society, Indian Society of Structural Engineers, Practicing Engineers Architects & Town Planners Association (PEATA), International Association of Bridge Management System etc.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Conservation from Herriot Watt University, Edinburgh, UK and a B.E degree from Sardar Patel College of Engineering, India.
